The advance booking of MSG is way higher than Roy. The followers of Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s are buying tickets in bulk and passing the tickets to other followers. Looking at the business, the Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows are all going houseful resulting into an insane figures similar to the movies like PK, Dhoom3 and Kick, or in fact is even more and the ticket rates are Rs 450 to 500. Moreover, because of the controversy which the movie created with the clash of censor board chief of Central Board of Film Certification, almost everybody is aware about this film.
Talking about Roy, the movie will draw major audience in the opening weekend because of the good music and in addition is the interesting star cast of the film. The movie will do really well at the box office. Further talking on the point whether MSG’s business will affect Roy, then I don’t think so, because there won’t be a clash of audience.
Ashok Ahuja (Consultant sales distribution & IPR management, Ishka films & Mangalmurti films):
Roy is looking very good and personally I think it will break the bad phase of poor openings the industry is going through. MSG is having block bookings but has to be seen how it holds after there are no block bookings.
