Get ready for the big Independence Day extended weekend as the Bollywood biggies, Mission Mangal & Batla House are all set to rock in next 4 days. The advance booking has just kickstarted and the shows have started going houseful already.
Here’s how both films are competing with each other as far as the initial advance booking is concerned:

10% of the shows are already filled or are on the verge of getting houseful in Mumbai.
Delhi
National Capital is going equal with 10% shows going houseful or filling fast.
Hyderabad
The advance booking in Hyderabad is yet to start in full flow but seems like the audience has started lapping up the film. 2/10 shows are filling fast or almost full.
Kolkata
Kolkata boasts of a very good fan following of Akshay Kumar and that is visible from the advance booking trends. 10% of the shows are already filling fast and it’s going to get only better with days to come.
Ahmedabad & Chandigarh are yet to get a response and the booking in Chennai hasn’t yet started.
Batla House is likely to score more in small centers and it will face competition from Mission Mangal in multiplexes and that we can also see in the advance booking trends.

Batla House has started warming up in Mumbai with around 5% shows going houseful or filling fast.
Delhi
NCR is less than 5% but that’s okay because there are still 4 days for the film to pick up.
Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh & Kolkata are slow right now with no show getting close to filled but things will heat up very soon.
Overall, Mission Mangal is having a clear lead here but it will be interesting to see how things proceed in the next couple of days.
