Mission Mangal Box Office Day 2 Early Trends: Holds Better Than Expected!

After much anticipation, Mission Mangal hit the theatre screens this Independence Day, and looks like it’s going to be a remarkable run, specially for Akshay Kumar, at the box office. The movie also starring Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kulhari & Nithya Menen, opened to rave reviews and here’s what the early trends are suggesting about its Day 2.

As per the latest trends flowing in, this Jagan Shakti directorial has earned whopping collections of around 16-18 crores on its Day 2, which is about a 40% drop as expected, considering the fact that it was a working day. If the buzz is to be taken into account, the upcoming weekend will definitely witness a better footfall at the theatres, so it’s already a win-win for the team!

The overall collections for Mission Mangal now stand in the range of 45.16-47.16 crores. The movie did face a competition from John Abraham’s Batla House, but overall managed to dominate the ticket windows.

Mission Mangal actress Kirti Kulhari has a strong and encouraging message for women on India’s 73rd Independence Day. The actress feels that women are “powerful, super strong and can literally do anything that they want to in their life.”

People talk about women empowerment and all. Empowerment sounds like the wrong word to use when it comes to women because you empower someone who is weak. So, while you are perpetuating the idea of empowerment, you are also at the same time telling women that you are weak and you need empowerment. I really don’t feel so. I think women are such powerful beings. They are just blessed with so much by nature purely from the virtue of being women,” Kirti told IANS.

Mission Mangal directed by Jagan Shakti, chronicles the story of five female scientists, who are on a mission to send a satellite to Mars.
