Mission Mangal Box Office Day 1: Takes A HUGE Opening, Set For A Terrific Run

Mission Mangal has taken a huge opening at the Box Office. It was predicted in this column that the film would take a start of around 25 crores on its Independence Day release. Even that would have been a very good number. However, what has happened is even better, what with 29.16 crores coming on Thursday. This is really good as the film was chasing with Batla House and still it has managed to exceed expectations.

The film had really heated up well en route release and right from the beginning of the week it was tracking better than ever before. The stage was set for the film and now it all boiled down to how the content would turn out to be for this Balki and Jagan Shakti affair. As it turned out, since the critical acclaim as well as audience appreciation was there right from the first show, the graph only soared further for the film.

For Akshay Kumar, the opening of the film is even better that his biggest ever till date, Gold, which had released exactly a year back on Independence Day and collected 25.25 crores. This also means that yet again he has scored an opening day of over 20 crores in 2019, what with the collections being way ahead of Kesari which had collected 21.06 crores. In fact this is his fourth film in a row to have collected in upwards of 20 crores as 2.0 (Hindi) too had netted 20.25 crores in its release.

From here, it is about sustaining to good levels right till Sunday. Though the numbers would fall today as it is back to a regular working day, on Saturday and Sunday the collections would yet again go past 20 crores and 25 crores respectively at least which would set the stage for a very big success in the offering for Fox Star Studios.
