Mary Kom starring Priyanka Chopra in the lead role was a biopic on the life of the Olympic medal winning boxer Mary Kom. While the film was declared tax free in mass circuits even before its release, Mary Kom enjoyed a decent run at the box office.

The film’s lifetime collections settled with 92 crores gross (64 crores nett) at the domestic box office. Also the film grossed 12 cores in the overseas market. Thus, the film stands at a whopping 104 crores gross worldwide!

Considering that the film was a biopic missing out on typical commercial factors such as a love story, the film could create enough buzz. Also Mary Kom was a woman centric drama that was based on sports, thus the film was not expected to gross huge amounts yet the collections are considerably good.
