Mardaani 2 Box Office Day 14: Does Well In Its Second Week

After accumulating 28.05 crores in its first week, Mardaani 2 did well in its second week to result in an overall total of 40.20 crores. Of course, given the fact that this one is a word of mouth affair which also boasts of good content, Mardaani 2 could have sustained even better and gone past at least 45 crores, if not reach 50 crores milestone. However, there was massive competition from Dabangg 3 and though the Salman Khan starrer didn’t really put the box office on fire, it was still strong enough for Mardaani 2 to see a major reduction in footfalls.

Still, the film has been a good enough feat personally for Rani Mukerji as she has now delivered a hat-trick of successes [Mardaani, Hichki, Mardaani 2]. Hardly anyone from her generation is currently active in the world of films, leave aside seeing even a success or two. However, the actress has been facing the camera on her own terms and ensuring that audiences line up for her even today.

The film is a good success and considering the fact that the costs are pretty much controlled, theatrical business is an added bonus. The film has done very respectable business and all eyes are now on how it does in the satellite and digital world. Though its disturbing content means that audiences would be restricted in home viewing, on the OTT platform it should definitely do better.
