In a very strategic decision, Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan has changed its release date. The film that was supposed to be released on April 10 is now released on April 11 with paid previews from the evening of April 10. The advance booking already commenced a day ago, but with the reshuffling, the bookings will also accommodate rescheduling and refunds.
With a fresh release date, Ajay Devgn’s film has sold around 6,000 tickets for 2.5K shows. In total, within a few hours of the changing of dates, the film has registered a gross collection of 13.79 lakh.
Maidaan is helmed by Amit Sharma, and the film is clashing at the box office with Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. The action Biggie is helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Comparison With Last Eid Release
When compared with the last Eid release, Ajay Devgn’s film needs to bulk up in pre-sales. The last film that was released on Eid was Salman Khan‘s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which earned a gross collection of 3.39 crore with almost 1.3 lakh tickets.
Ajay Devgn‘s film needs to sell at least that many tickets to beat the last pre-release. With 4 days remaining for the film to release, this does not seem to be that big a number!
