Ajay Devgn’s upcoming magnum opus, Maidaan, is all set to hit the big screen this Eid, and the countdown is in the final stage. The advance booking for the film started in the last couple of days. Initially, a decent momentum at the box office was seen, but now, it’s shockingly stuck at the same place, and there’s no sign of moving ahead. Keep reading to know more!
Directed by Amit Sharma, the biographical sports drama is based on the life of an Indian football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim. Ajay Devgn will be seen portraying the character of Syed Abdul Rahim, and since the actor is known for pulling off serious roles with the right intensity and ease, there’s excitement about his performance.
Coming to the advance booking update, Maidaan crossed the 10 lakh mark yesterday, and as of now, it has earned just a little over 11 lakh gross (excluding blocked seats) through advance booking for day 1. It includes a sale of over 6,000 tickets across the country. As of now, around 1,100 shows are listed on online ticket-booking sites.

While initially, the advance booking was moving at a decent speed, shockingly, it’s now stuck and going ahead at a snail speed. Considering the high production value, Maidaan needs to really pick up, and during the 4 days before the release, it must aim to hit the 5 crore mark in the advance booking alone for day 1.
Speaking about Maidaan’s competitor, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is also releasing on Eid, and even its advance booking is open now. Compared to the Ajay Devgn starrer, BMCM is moving ahead at some speed. Let’s see which film ends up scoring higher in the advance booking for day 1.
