Mahabharat – 3D, that released last Friday, couldn’t make much business at the Box Office. However, the movie has set a record of being the highest earner among all Indian animation films till date.
The movie, that raked in 55 lakh on its opening day i.e. 1st Friday which is by far the highest single day collection of any animated India film, has made 1.50 crores in its opening weekend.

So far only few animations have release in India and did average business, Hanuman which did 5 lakh on day one, Krishna and Kans did 20 lakh, Chhota Bheem (which is also a famous cartoon series) did 45 lakh on day one, Arjun did 25 lakh on day one and Son of Ram did 5 lakh on its first day. Mahabharat – 3D is the only movie which has set a benchmark with its opening day.
