John Abraham starrer Madras Cafe, that released all over today, began moderately at the domestic box office. The film recorded a 25%-30% occupancy in most key circuits. An espionage thriller, the film has strong chances of improving over the weekend.
Incurring great reviews from critics, along with a positive word of the mouth for the film – it’s occupancy will increase in the evening shows as well as over the next two days.

Mostly a multiplex film sketched around the Lankan Civil War, there is less probability of it to do well in the single screens. But, in urban centres, the film will fare better as it clearly lacks the commercial factor of a masala flick that captivates the single screens. However, being the taut, gritty film it is lauded to be, Madras Cafe will go down well with the audiences it is targeted at.
