Love Aaj Kal VS Jab Harry Met Sejal At The Box Office: Which Imtiaz Ali Film Trended Worse?

After Chhapaak and Panga, Love Aaj Kal starring Karik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan has proved to be a major disappointment at the Box Office this year. The film had a mediocre weekend and dropped badly on Monday. The Friday to Monday drop was close to 80% and even if we don’t take Friday into account because it was a Valentine’s Day the drop from Saturday was close to 65%, which is huge.

The film has performed very badly and is likely to end its run by the end of the first week. There are two major releases Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship releasing next week and they won’t leave many screens for Love Aaj Kal.

Jab Harry Met Sejal started on a better note clearly but the hold in the weekend was better compared to Love Aaj Kal. It was also because of the star value. A bad movie affects Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan starrer more than a Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer. Also, on Monday which was Raksha Bandhan, Jab Harry Met Sejal got benefited at the Box Office. In the case of Love Aaj Kal, there was no holiday to benefit so the film crashed. This crash happened for Jab Harry Met Sejal on Tuesday as it came out of the weekend and holiday benefit.

It will be interesting to see the trend of Love Aaj Kal till Thursday as it will decide the lifetime business of the film.
