Love Aaj Kal Box Office Day 7: Kartik Aaryan-Sara Ali Khan’s Film Has A Disastrous Opening Week

Love Aaj Kal Box Office: Love Aaj Kal has turned out to be a box office disaster. The film opened quite well at 12.40 crores but post that it has been complete downhill. The film fell on Saturday and Sunday and on Monday it was a complete washout. There was no chance of redemption whatsoever from Tuesday onwards and as a result, the first week stands at mere 36 crores*.

Even on an average case scenario, the film warranted an opening weekend on these lines and here the first-week billing has come out to be this, which pretty much tells the tale. It is clear that the Imtiaz Ali directed film hasn’t worked with any segment of the audience. In fact, there was a possibility of urban multiplex audiences liking it but then the negative word of mouth spread so quickly that even that segment was lost.

The film has managed a show or two at some multiplexes but that’ll about it. At best, the film would touch the 40 crores mark in its lifetime which is much lesser than the 100 Crore Club affair that it was touted to be.
