Love Aaj Kal Box Office: Starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan, expectations from this Imtiaz Ali romance drama were sky high. However, a shocker came in as the film received rejection from the masses. And the film has been witnessing a downward trend ever since.
The film had added total collections of 28.51 crores in its opening weekend, which is just an inch away from Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone’s Love Aaj Kal (2009), which earned over 27 crores. This itself proves the disappointment that the film brought in despite its massive pre-release buzz.

Now, talking about its Day 4 i.e it’s first Monday, Love Aaj Kal witnessed a huge drop with over 50% drop in its collections. As per the early trends flowing in, the film has added just 2-3 crores to its kitty.
This is what the trade pundits feared as well, and that is exactly what happened. The overall collection will now stand between 29.81-30.81 crores, a mark which should have been crossed within its first weekend. Nonetheless, the film has to now maintain a steady hold over the week, and that will majorly decide its lifetime total.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aryan recently said playing two distinct characters from different eras in Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film Love Aaj Kal was a challenge he enjoyed.
The film shows love stories of two different eras, the first is set in the late 1980s–early nineties, and unfolds between Raghu and Leena. The other love story, set in present time, happens between Veer and Zoe. While Kartik plays Raghu and Veer, Sara Ali Khan has been cast as Zoe and Arushi Sharma plays Leena.
“The two roles are distinct, in the way they look, react and relate to people around them. Veer is a modern guy, somewhat geeky and socially awkward. He is sure of what he wants and that sets him apart from the people around him. On the other hand, Raghu represents any teenage boy who has grown up in the nineties. Raghu and Veer are also different when they are in love,” said Kartik.
