Join UsLove Aaj Kal Box Office: Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan’s film has opened quite well at the box office. The film was expected to start in the range of 12-15 crores and this is what happened as 12.40 crores came in.
The release date was just perfect for the romantic drama as Valentine’s Day fell on Friday. This helped the urban youth grab the film and at major multiplexes the footfalls were quite steady right through the day.
Generally on Saturday the films do grow at the box office and since this one is a biggie, greater numbers could be on the cards. However, the fact also remains that Friday was a partial holiday of sorts, albeit unofficially, due to Valentine’s Day, and hence one can’t really expect much of a growth on Saturday. As a matter of fact it won’t be surprising if the collections actually are lower than Friday. That could well be understandable as well, as long as Sunday is greater than Saturday as that would establish that the target audience has liked the film.
As a solo release of the week, this Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan starrer has the stage set to keep the moolah flowing. That said, director Imtiaz Ali has given niche treatment to the film which means one can’t expect universal audiences to lap up the film all over. As long as audiences at key premium multiplexes keep coming in, Love Aaj Kal would continue to stay in race.
