Lootera Has A Weak Run At The Box Office

The box office has proven that we have such little regard for artistic film as Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera turned out to be a massive box-office disaster of sorts following its 2nd weekend. The film that made 19 crores in its opening weekend saw a drastic fall as its 2nd weekend collections rested at 3 crores cumulative.

The movie now stands at a domestic total of about 30 crores at the Box Office. The film has performed the best in Bengal circuit given their natural affinity for art films flowing from the legacy of Ray and Ghatak. Motwane painted a similar narrative based ambiance which synced well with the cinematic sensibilities of Bengal.

However, in most circuits the film flopped dismally. It is hardly a setback for its makers who weren’t focusing much on box-office numbers either for Lootera!
