For the unversed, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has assigned Kesari Chapter 2 the ‘A’ certificate. It is due to the possible features of intense graphic depictions of the massacre where as many as 1500 people reportedly lost their lives.

The anticipation is sky-high, especially because Kesari (2019) was a huge success. Sequels, even if spiritual, enjoy the added benefits of immense buzz. Besides, Akshay Kumar has always won hearts with his history of films based on real life, including Mission Mangal and Gold.

Going by the current trends, Kesari Chapter 2 could open in the range of 15 crore range. If the response is favorable in advance booking, it could go higher. Its entry into the top 5 adult openers in Bollywood is confirmed. Akshay Kumar is also all set to surpass his last hit, OMG 2 (2023), with at least 46% higher collections.

Karan Johar hosted a media event in presence of Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday in Mumbai today. The team was asked about CBFC granting ‘A’ certificate to the historical courtroom drama. Reacting to the same, KJo said, “We absolutely respect the Censor Board. I feel they must have seen reason. So we accept the certificate. There were no cuts.”
