Katrina’s Phantom Evicts Deepika’s Piku; Becomes 8th Highest Opening Weekend Grosser

Phantom starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles managed to have a decent opening and continued its good stride over the first weekend. After receiving mixed reviews from the critics, the film managed to collect 33.18 crores on its opening weekend at the domestic box office.

The Kabir Khan film seems to be receiving a lot of footfalls thanks to its star cast, since this is Katrina’s first film of the year and also after a good gap since Bang Bang. Interestingly, the film has evicted Deepika Padukone starrer Piku from the list of highest weekend grossers of 2015.

Katrina’s film has also surpassed her beau Ranbir Kapoor’s Roy weekend collections and become the eighth highest grosser of the year.

Phantom has also beaten Drishyam‘s weekend collections.
