Join UsFilmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj who is currently all busy these days filming Thalapathy 64 starring Kollywood superstar Thalapathy Vijay, has now got a new reason to celebrate. Post garnering overwhelming response for his last directorial Kaithi starring actor Karthi which released on occasion of Diwali recently crossed the 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
It never was that easy task for the action-thriller in theatres. Giving tough competition to the Karthi starrer was filmmaker Atlee Kumar’s directorial Bigil which has Thalapathy Vijay in lead.
This phenomenal achievement is without a doubt a huge milestone for the team of Kaithi.
The film is having a great run at the box office. Cine-goers have been going in large numbers to theatres to catch up with the film following the word of mouth promotions.
Post success of Kaithi, Lokesh and Karthi will be teaming up for the film’s sequel. The talks are on between the actor and the director.
Lokesh is expected to work on the sequel once he wraps up his current directorial project i.e Thalapathy 64.

Talking about Thalapathy 64, apart from Thalapathy Vijay the gangster thriller also stars Vijay Sethupathi in a pivotal role. The latter in the film will be seen playing an antagonist.
The film will have music composition by Anirudh Ravichander.
The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial is being produced by Xavier Britto under XB Film Creators.
The film will hit big screens in April 2020.
