The movie made an entry in the 100 crore club in just 5 days, which is a huge achievement for Shahid Kapoor and team. The movie has crossed the 120 crore mark domestically and it’s trending fair at the overseas box office.
It has been surrounded by controversies because a certain section of the audience didn’t agree with the treatment given to Kiara Advani’s (Preeti) character in the film. After the out-of-the-world trending, Kabir Singh is now challenging major biggies in India.
From here Kabir Singh’s entry to the 200 crores is totally possible, but let’s take a look at the movies between 200 crores – 300 crores which could challenge this Shahid starrer. Movies like Happy New Year (205 crores), Golmaal Again (205.72 crores), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (207.40 crores) and Bharat (209.36 crores) are under the danger-zone of Kabir Singh.

It could challenge Shah Rukh Khan’s highest grossing film Chennai Express, which stands at 226.70 crores. It’s surely difficult but looking at the surprises the movie has been bringing in, this is possible. Salman Khan’s Kick stands at 233 crores and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba is at 240.22 crores, Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 (240.50 crores), Uri: The Surgical Strike (243.77 crores) and Dhoom 3 (280.25 crores) are the films from which Kabir Singh could fall short.
Kabir Singh, which also stars Kiara Advani, is a remake of the popular Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy that originally starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, the film opened on June 21. The remake is written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It is a T-Series and Cine1 Studios presentation.
