Join UsHumpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is all set to see a good opening at the box office, what with the film heating up with the younger generation. Moreover, the fact that both Varun Dhawan (Main Tera Hero) and Alia Bhatt (2 States) are coming with a successful film behind them should also help the cause of this Karan Johar production which has been designed as a family entertainer.
The makers have done well to promote the light hearted quotient of the film, also bringing in the ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge‘ angle, hence managing to form connect with the generation gone by too. However, while Saturday Saturday and Samjhawan have picked up well on their repeat run with the film, one just feels that at least one solid original chartbuster would have allowed the film to take a bumper beginning.
The film is seeing a good release for a young starcast and since last weekend’s releases haven’t done well, exhibitors are all set to give it a free run in theaters. Moreover, it is a solo release which means the stage is all set for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania to go on rampage, if the content is good enough.
All of this means that while an opening around 60%-70% is on the cards, a good weekend is expected. Sky is the limit for this directorial debut of Shashank Khaitan to attract audience by the dozen for one full week at the least.
