Holiday Crosses The 100 Crore Mark; 29th Entrant Of The Club

The Akshay Kumar starrer Holiday is now the 3rd entrant into the 100 crore club of 2014 as it crossed the desirable figure after its 3rd Friday at the Domestic Box Office. As we had predicted in our column (Read: How Holiday Has Possibilities To Collect 100 Crs), in an impressive 15 days feat, the film has managed to enter the coveted 100 crore league. On its 3rd Friday, the film collected approx 1.5 crores, taking its domestic total so far to 100.35 crores at the Box office.

Starring Akshay Kumar in lead, this is his third film to make a business of over 100 crores after Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore at the box office. The action drama coming from A.R. Murugadoss performed extremely well in its first week itself and like his previous film Ghajini which had also grossed 100 crores, Holiday too surpassed the big barrier quite smoothly. After having a massive opening, there were expectations from this film to break some records and a quick run to become a top grosser was foreseen on the cards.

Being lauded in the overseas too, Holiday sailed smoothly through its first and second week. The film is expected to add more moolah in the coming week. Currently the 19th joiner at the 100 cr club, it is still left to see if the film will usurp to become the second highest of the year by surpassing the collections of 2 States.
