The year 1975 has been written with golden ink in the history of Bollywood because it gave SHOLAY to the industry. Needless to say, the film was a historic hit and even today filmmakers struggle to make a masala entertainer like that.

The film which brought Amitabh Bachchan & Dharmendra together along with Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar & Amjad Khan looked like a rejected film earlier but the word of mouth picked up rapidly later and it went on to smash previous records with leaps and bounds. At that time, this film earned 15.5 crores which again remained an unbeaten number unless 19 years later Hum Aapke Hain Koun in 1994 released.
