Rani Mukerji’s Hichki has undoubtedly become one of the profitable films of 2018. It looks like the actress’ quirky portrayal of Naina, a teacher ailing from Tourette Syndrome, has touched the hearts of moviegoers across the country. Receiving rave reviews from its audience and critics alike, Hichki has become a trailblazer for small budget films at the Box Office, just like Newton and Bareilly Ki Barfi.
During the 4th weekend of its run. On Sunday, the film collected 65 lacs, slightly higher than its Saturday collection of 50 lacs. The film is currently on track to cross 45 crores, with its total lifetime collection standing at 43.95 crores so far.

While box office analysts had initially anticipated that Hichki would have a total lifetime collection of around 30 crores, the film has managed to surpass all expectations, speeding past the 40 crore mark. Despite being targeted at a niche audience, and facing competition from films like Baaghi 2, Raid and Blackmail, the film has become an unprecedented hit at the box office. Also impressive is the fact that the film was made on a budget of 20 crores, which it easily recuperated through its non-theatrical rights, making it profitable from its very first day at the Box Office.
