The film has now surpassed the collections of Jab Tak Hai Jaan which had collected $13,560,000. Happy New Year has now become the fifth highest overseas grosser. Shah Rukh Khan is the only actor to have six films in the Highest overseas grossers list.
The UAE and US circuits specifically outperformed for this film. A large portion of the film was shot in Dubai and it is known that Shah Rukh has a huge fan following in the middle east.
