Happy New Year after having a smashing start with a historic opening kept up a good performance on its second day too. The film collected 31.60 crores on its first Saturday i.e Day 2. With this, the film now stands with a total of 76.57 crores at the domestic box office.

The Shah Rukh Khan film has cashed in huge on the Diwali holiday phenomenon and that is clear from its two day performance itself.
The film remained rock solid in multiplexes at the urban centers such as Mumbai, Gujarat and Delhi-NCR regions. In two days, the film has become the eighth highest grosser of 2014, beating the likes of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Gunday and ousted Entertainment from the Top 10 movies list.
Happy New Year is clearly making it to the 100 crore club in three days looking at its pace. Will it break Dhoom 3‘s record is what is left to see.
