The Post, entering in its week two with just 83 cinemas, is still alive at the box office despite many new Bollywood releases. Starring Tom Hanks & Meryl Streep this Steven Spielberg film has been trying to attract its target audience at the Indian box office.

Adding lacs with each passing day the box office, The Post collected 86 lacs in its second weekend. It has collected 12 lakhs on its 2nd Monday, 11 lakhs on its 2nd Tuesday and now it stands at the grand total of 3.04 crores.

As for Bollywood movies, The Post too will lose a considerable amount of screens once Padmaavat arrives. One of the most talked about movie at the Golden Globes & Oscars, the movie might earn some buzz attracting new set of audience.v

The film follows Katharine Graham played by Streep who, as the first female publisher of The Washington Post, relies on the help of editor Ben Bradlee essayed by Tom Hanks to catch up with The New York Times to break the story of the classified Pentagon Papers, which expose the US government’s lies about the Vietnam War.

Together, they must overcome their differences as they risk their careers to help bring the truth to light, whilst risking the future of the newspaper.

Streep said that Hanks’ reputation as being the nicest guy in Hollywood was accurate. But the actress also added that Hanks is very smart, which she considers to be sexy.

Veteran actress Meryl Streep has registered her 21st nomination with a spot in the Actress in a Leading Role for The Post, distributed in India by Anil Ambani-backed Reliance Entertainment. She will be competing with Frances McDormand (Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri), Margot Robbie (I, Tonya), Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird) and Hawkins.
