As Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy is inching closer towards its arrival date of 14th February i.e. Thursday, the excitement is getting higher and higher. Apart from its captivating trailer and hard-hitting songs, the pairing of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt has generated curiosity amongst the fans.
Speaking about the start at the box office, Gully Boy is in the news for all the right reasons. It is boasted of huge pre-release buzz and awareness, given the considerable increase in fan following of Ranveer and Alia, post the magnificent year of 2018. Also, the advance booking that kick-started on Sunday is witnessing a tremendous response, especially across the multiplexes in major centres. One more point that works in the favour of this musical-drama is the absence of any major releases during the week thus accounting for a good number of screens.

As the movie is inspired by the life of Mumbai based rappers, DIVINE and Naezy, with a backdrop of the city, Gully Boy is looking forward to taking a terrific start in Mumbai, which will further boost the opening day figures to a great extent.

Director Zoya Akhtar known for movies like Luck By Chance, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Dil Dhadakne Do, has a certain section of movie buffs rooting for her work, assuring a promising start amongst the targeted audience (multiplex or class audience).
All said and done, Gully Boy is all set for a great start at the ticket windows and 10 crores plus is a bare minimum expectation and it could gather a terrific number with the increase in footfalls during the evening and night shows, once the positive word-of-mouth starts flowing in.
