Gulaab Gang, Total Siyapaa & Queen Witness A Low Occupancy On Day 1 | Box Office

With three releases this week, the box office was expected to be rattling with big numbers. But little did we know that, all three would start on a low key. Even a big star release like Gulaab Gang starring Madhuri Dixit Nene and Juhi Chawla suffered a bad fate with a disappointing 5-10% occupancy in the morning shows.

On the other hand, Kangana Ranaut’s Queen, which gained praises from critics and the who’s who of the film fraternity, had a poor start too. The other release, a comic caper, Total Siyapaa too met with a same fate, what with a poor occupancy of around 10% on its opening day.

Looking back on the reasoning for such low figures, it looks like its the Hollywood big release 300: Rise Of An Empire that may have stolen the show. Also due the pre-release controversy hovering over Gulaab Gang, the film’s business has affected to a considerable extent.

Even though the start has been low, all three films are expected to experience a rise in the footfall post late evening.
