Good Newwz Box Office: Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani starrer Good Newwz is enjoying an overwhelming response from the cine goers. After taking a decent start on the opening day, the movie fared extremely well over the entire weekend and also on its first weekday.
Speaking about today i.e. day 5, Good Newwz has opened to an occupancy of 20-25% in the morning shows across the country, which is on the same level of opening day. Seems like the positive word-of-mouth is helping the movie to reap the benefits of the new year eve. Having said that, the comic caper is heading towards a minimum 15 crore Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Good Newwz gone through a legal trouble before the release. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed against the film in Karnataka High Court seeking stay on its release, over the subject matter.

In the film, it has been shown that two couples, both having the surname ‘Batra’ opt for IVF assistance to have a child at a private clinic. However, the clinic accidentally interchanges the sperms, which leads to confusion.
A Mysuru-based NGO raised objection over the film’s subject, as reported by The News Minute. Mir Sameem Raza, president of an NGO called Yes Trust has filed the PIL. The petition alleged that the film’s subject is misguiding because it might lead the audiences to believe that In-Vitro fertilisation (IVF) centres often make such mistakes, which in turn can negatively impact their business
