Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire continues to be the top performing film of the week, what with 4.1 crores coming in. There is a good challenge coming from Bollywood’s own Crew but still, this film is doing the most business and keeping an edge over everything else. In fact if not for Crew playing alongside, the film could well have been adding around a couple of crores more on a daily basis even during the weekdays.

The drop from Monday, when 6 crores had come, is also reasonable because in any case the film has been over performing so on Tuesday it has actually normalised. The expectations are that the film would stay around the same levels right till Thursday and the collections will be 4 crores or above easily. Once that happens then expect a huge spike over the second weekend all over again because that’s anyways the trend with Hollywood films even when they have average to good reports and here that’s far better.

The film has now reached 48.51 crores and as you read this, it would have crossed the 50 crores mark. Though it won’t score a first week of 60 crores, it would come quite close to that and then more than just cover the shortfall in the second weekend since it’s a set film. This one has been a bonus success for the exhibition and distribution circle this season.
