Ghanchakkar Opens To A Good Occupancy At The Box Office

After a considerable low last week, with only Raanjhanaa managing an average opening, this week’s release intends to make up for the dry spell. With Rajkumar Gupta’s Ghanchakkar that stars Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi, the film opened to a good occupancy at the box office across the country today.

Being Vidya Balan’s first release this year and going by Emraan Hashmi’s vast fan following, Ghanchakkar has multiple reasons of pulling up good crowd. The most crucial one is that here is finally a thriller that uses comedy as its base! As expected, the film is faring good in North India, especially in the Delhi and U.P circuit and Vidya Balan’s over-the-top loud character won’t disappoint the audiences.

More of a multiplex film catering to elite sensibilities the film opened to a 40%-50% occupancy at the box office , as per early trade estimates. After the great May release, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, this is the first film to have even aimed at the 50% opening day occupancy mark!
