Filmistaan starring Sharib Hashmi in the lead role has so far maintained a steady pace at the box office. The film in a surprising manner had picked up on its fourth day over the opening day. Now on its 1st Wednesday, the film raked in 51 lacs. Adding this moolah, Filmistaan now stands with a total collection of 4.42 crores at the domestic box office.
The film has been scoring so far on the basis of sheer content. With honest performances by the actors and a unique storyline, Filmistaan enjoyed decent audience response.

In terms of trade, Filmistaan has lost out badly to the other release i.e. Holiday starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. Even if the film maintains this pace over the week, the first week collections for Filmistaan may not go beyond 5 crores at the domestic box office.

The film struck a nerve with the critics, however, not being a usual commercial drama Filmistaan suffered at the box office. Nevetheless, the film’s great positive word of mouth has been beneficial so far.
