Filmistaan started off on a low note. The film, starring Sharib Hashmi and Inaamulhaq in lead roles, is a witty comedy that comes out as an ode to Hindi Cinema, however, the film couldn’t find much takers for it as the movie on its opening day collected 51 Lac nett at the domestic box office.

The film has received great critics responses and had an opening similar to that of last week’s Raj Kumar Rao starrer Citylights. Without any big star quotient and much pre release buzz, this film is sure to survive on its strong content and some honest performances by the actors.

The film is already enjoying a positive word of mouth and this will surely help the film perform well over the weekend, now that the IPL season is over and people will be flocking to theatres in good numbers.
