Everything was going well until Tom Hanks got a nasty cut on his leg. Further, things got worse as it turned out to be a staph infection. The case was so severe that it could have taken a toll on the actor’s life due to blood poisoning.
Describing the whole incident, Hanks had said, “The doctor said to me, ‘What’s the matter with you, you idiot? You could have died from this thing’. Then we had to shut down production for three weeks because the doctors said, ‘No way is this kid getting in the water’,” as reported by news.com.au.
