Ratatouille had a simple yet creative plot which revolves around a rat named Remy, who dreams of becoming a chef. Remy tries everything to achieve his goal by taking the help of a restaurant’s garbage boy. On the critical front, the film was a huge hit and everyone just fell in love with cute four-legged Remy.
Post favourable reviews, Ratatouille’s $624 million box office success (as per Box Office Mojo) didn’t come as a surprise. Kids, as well as the parents, were left in awe by the storytelling and the cute central character. Britain’s Pets at Home domestic pet chain had stated of witnessing 50% hike in the sale since the film opened in Britain.
Pets at Home’s spokesperson had stated that “It’s early doors yet, but it seems ‘Ratatouille’ has done wonders for the image of rats,” as per the report in www.ukpets.co.uk.
Not only one pet chain but there was a huge demand for rats as a pet, across North America and the United Kingdom.
