Drishyam is showing some good escalation at the Box Office, courtesy good word of mouth that is continuing to bring in audience. For a film which was relying primarily on the feedback of ‘aam junta’ instead of taking a whirlwind opening on the very first day, the Ajay Devgn starrer is actually going ahead as per the script.
Meanwhile, we also bring to you the official numbers w.r.t. the economics of the Nishikant Kamat directed film.
. Cost of Making – 52 crore
· P&A – 15 crore
· Overall Cost: 67 crore
· Recovery through satellite, music, overseas, internet and other rights – 45 crore
· Cost to be recovered – 22 crore
· Minimal theatrical revenue needed from India to recover this cost – 45-50 crore
With the film’s weekend expected to bring in around 26-27 crore and expectations of a stable week ahead, Drishyam is pretty much on the path of breaking even by the end of first week itself.
From that point on, it is a matter of how much further does the film go ahead and make decent profits as well for its makers.
