With this, it has become the first film of 2024 to achieve the feat. Out of this total, the overseas market has contributed $299 million. The domestic collection stands at $207.5 million.

A few days back, Dune 2 surpassed the lifetime collection of its predecessor ($433.92 million). Also, it’s the first film since Wonka to hit the $500 million milestone, and that speaks volumes about its acceptance among the audience.
After beating the predecessor and crossing $500 million at the worldwide box office, Dune 2 has the next big task of crossing 2023’s blockbuster, Wonka. For those who don’t know, Wonka amassed $629.69 million and is still running in selected locations. The target is definitely achievable, and whenever that happens, it’ll become Timothee Chalamet‘s highest-grossing film of all time.

In a recent worldwide update, it was learned that IMAX screens alone crossed a collection of $100 million last weekend. It emerged as the 7th fastest film to achieve the feat.
