Detective Byomkesh Bakshy held up decently on its first weekend in spite of facing a stiff competition from Hollywood’s Fast and Furious 7. The Sushant Singh Rajput starrer failed to maintain its stride on Monday and thus with a considerable drop, it fetched 1.70 crores on its fourth day. DBB now stands with a total collection of 15.70 crores at the domestic box office

The film started off on an average note in spite of being a holiday release. The main reason that this detective drama could not have a bumper opening was the Hollywood release Fast and Furious 7. Since it is a big Hollywood franchise film, the buzz was high and it took over the multiplexes quite strongly. Also DBB is not a massy film and hence it has not worked at single screens too.
