Desi Boyz Opens To Mixed Response At Box-Office

The Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer, Desi Boyz, which released in India on Friday, November 25, has taken a mixed opening at the box-office. The opening of the comedy, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh, ranges from 50 per cent to 90 per cent across India.

Desi Boyz Box-Office Opening: Indore & Pune

At Indore, the 9 a.m. show of Desi Boyz at Velocity cinema saw 161 persons in attendance as against a maximum capacity of 240 persons. The 10 a.m. show of the film at another screen of the same cinema saw 300 persons in attendance as against a capacity of 580 people.

Very few cinemas remained open in Pune due to disturbance caused by the Sharad Pawar controversy that erupted on Thursday. However, E-Square multiplex was open, and Desi Boyz opened to housefull shows there.

Desi Boyz Box-Office Opening: Kanpur

In Kanpur, the first show of Desi Boyz at Heer talkies saw collections of Rs. 14,535 as against maximum (housefull) collections of Rs. 37,572. Manjushree cinema, Kanpur, collected Rs. 7,276 as against maximum collections of Rs. 26,941. In the first show, Shyam cinema collected Rs. 8,604 as against a housefull collection of Rs. 18,848. However, Gurudev cinema, also in Kanpur, saw a housefull for the first show of Desi Boyz, raking in Rs. 19,240.

Desi Boyz Box-Office Opening: PVR Properties In Maharashtra & Gujarat

At PVR Goregoan, Bombay, the occupancies for the first four shows of Desi Boyz (as against a maximum capacity of 322) were as follows: 140, 160, 185 and 64 persons. At PVR Juhu, in Bombay, 126, 194 and 96 persons attended the first three shows, as against maximum capacity of 377 persons. At PVR Lower Parel, there were fewer footfalls for the initial shows of Desi Boyz as only 84, 96, 62, 94, 26 and 24 persons turned up as against the maximum capacity of 392 persons. At PVR Mulund, Bombay, the first show saw 66 persons in attendance, whereas the second show had 158 persons, as against the capacity of 272 persons for both the shows.

At PVR Ahmedabad, the first show of Desi Boyz was housefull. The later three shows saw at the multiplex saw 176, 186 and 114 persons in attendance as against a maximum capacity of 322 people. At PVR Baroda, the first four shows saw 197, 206, 211 and 53 persons in attendance as against a capacity of 572 people. At PVR Surat 89, 116, 213, 26, 77, 225, 216 and 149 persons attended various shows of Desi Boyz against a capacity of 288 persons.
