De De Pyaar De Box Office Day 3: The makers can breathe better. Their film has managed to find momentum over the weekend, what with 14.74 crores coming on Sunday. From where it started on Friday, the Akiv Ali directed film has found a good spot for itself and the collections are now respectable.
The film currently stands at 38.54 crores and the numbers are on the same lines as last week’s release Student of the Year 2. That film too had primarily worked with the urban youth, though it started on a better note with 12.06 crores coming on the first day and then 38.83 crores as the weekend total.

The Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu starrer has trended well and now all eyes would be on how the weekdays turn out to be for the film. Last year, Ajay Devgn’s Raid had opened on a similar note [10.04 crores] and had a very similar weekend [41.01 crores] as well. Later, owing to positive word of mouth and critical acclaim, it had managed to enter the 100 Crore Club.

Though De De Pyaar De carries a far more conventionally entertaining appeal, one waits to see if it too carries similar pattern and emerges as a word of mouth film. For that it would be important that fall from Friday to Monday turns out to be minimal as that would be required for the collections to head towards a good first week total.
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
