Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu starrer De De Pyaar De is enjoying a decent run at the box office, if not overwhelming. The movie opened below expectations but gathered momentum over the next two days.
Now with a weekend total of 38.54 crores, DDPD has grabbed the 8th position in Ajay’s highest opening weekend and 7th position in highest opening weekends of Bollywood in 2019.

Golmaal Again
Golmaal Again was boasted of altogether different level of craze amongst the audiences. Plus the Diwali festive season gave a great impetus for the movie. In its normal 3-day weekend, Golmaal Again accumulated 87.60 crores.
Singham Returns
Another Rohit Shetty directorial, Singham Returns is at the 2nd place with a collection of 77.55 crores. It benefitted from Independence Day holiday on opening day.
Son Of Sardaar
Son Of Sardaar clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan and saw its arrival on Tuesday. Due to Diwali festive season, SOS clocked 64.05 crores in a 6-day extended weekend.
Total Dhamaal
Ajay Devgn recent release Total Dhamaal is at the 4th spot and despite any holiday advantage, it fetched a healthy total of 62.40 crores.
Baadshaho
This multi starrer heist thriller was expected to perform way to big but ended up adding 43.30 crores in the opening weekend.
Raid
Raid was a surprise hit from Ajay Devgn, which grew terrifically after a slow start. It earned 41.01 crores over its opening weekend.
Satyagraha
This political drama was an underperformer at the box office but still holds a spot at 7th position with a total of 39 crores.

De De Pyaar De
De De Pyaar De is the latest entrant of the list with 38.54 crores. Owing to the good pre-release hype and positive word-of-mouth, the movie was expected to earn a position amongst the top 3 opening weekends of the actor but turned out to be a bit low performer.
DDPD has surpassed Bol Bachchan (38.50 crores) and Himmatwala (31 crores) in the list.

Kesari
Akshay Kumar’s Kesari dominated the ticket windows during its 4-day extended weekend, including Holi holiday on opening day. With 78.07 crores, the periodic drama is the 1st spot.
Gully Boy
Ranveer Singh’s musical drama grabbed the 2nd spot with 72.45 crores in its 4-day extended weekend. It enjoyed an opening day benefit of Valentine’s Day.
Kalank
This multi starrer periodic drama was a big dud at the box office, which didn’t convert its initial stupendous start to a big lifetime total. Owing to holidays of Mahavir Jayanti and Good Friday, Kalank added 66.03 crores in its 5-day extended weekend.
Total Dhamaal
Total Dhamaal is at 3rd place with a collection of 62.40 crores during the opening weekend. It scored on the brand value of Dhamaal franchise and positive word-of-mouth amongst the family audience.
Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi
Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is at 5th place with a total of 42.50 crores. Though it had a normal 3-day weekend, it enjoyed a benefit of Republic Day holiday.
Student Of The Year 2
The musical college drama was released last week and added a decent collection of 38.83 crores in the opening weekend.
De De Pyaar De
DDPD is the 7th highest opening weekend earner of 2019 with 38.54 crores coming in its 3-day weekend. Given the appreciation from the viewers, the movie could have performed way better.
Other movies including Uri: The Surgical Strike (35.73 crores) and Luka Chuppi (32.13 crores) are other highest opening weekend grossers.
