Despite no BOGO offer, Crew’s Box Office saw further rise in collections on Saturday with 5.40 crores coming in. On Friday, aided by BOGO, the film had grown further over Friday [3.12 crores] and brought in 3.85 crores. Hence, all eyes were on how the film would perform on Saturday. There is a good jump in collections of Crew that’s expected as it is on Saturdays and especially during last few months the trend has been that in the second weekend, Saturday jumps for established films actually get into that 60%-80% range.
However, since on Friday the film Crew had moved up anyways, one thought that the jump won’t be in this range on Saturday. This has happened though as the film has not just gone past the 5 crores mark rather comfortably but then added a lot on top of that as well. With Saturday collections actually turning out to be quite good, one can now expect stability to come in on Sunday and while 6 crores number will certainly be crossed all over again, the film could well make a case for itself to get into that 6-6.25 crores range too.
The Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon starter Crew has now reached 56.78 crores and even if this had turned out to be a lifetime score for the film, it would still have been decent enough given the state of theatrical releases that one is seeing of late. However, Crew is actually collecting exactly in line with the merits and the credentials, and this should reflect in the lifetime number as well which would be in excess of 75 crores now.
