Hansal Mehta’s Citylights is holding well on weekdays. The statement might seem tall for a film that is earning in lacs, but the film’s trim budget proved to be beneficial for the hard hitting Raj Kumar Rao movie. The film on its 1st Wednesday made 56 lacs at the domestic box office, elevating the cumulative income of the film to 5.40 crores nett.
The film is made on the budget of 6.50 crores (including P & A), the film has nearly recovered its investment. The satellite rights of the film are already sold for 7 crores so the makers are definitely not surviving in testy waters. The hope for profit is massive for the film.
Citylights, however, will be deterred by Holiday as well as Filmistaan. While the former is a big budget pompous project, Filmistaan too will earn well merely because of the tenderness and pleasantness of its tone.
