Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the pivotal role, the film was an entertaining feat for the festive occasion which it trapped well. Scheduling the film for a Eid was a crucial decision which helped the film perform way better than one might have expected it to.
In U.K-Ireland circuit, the film has so far made 19.32 crores at the box office. In U.S.A, the film fared better and the cumulative collections now stands at 30.14 crores, while in Australia and New Zealand, the film made a total earning of 5.68 crores at the box office.

The film’s collections in the overseas circuits will not recede as Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are spread out in a good part of the globe. Chennai Express also opened avenues to many newer circuits and exact collections from those zones have gone unreported. However, the film has already crossed 100 crores business overseas alone.
