Slowly but steadily, Chashme Baddoor has managed to find decent buzz going for it. Aided by some good marketing and promotion, this David Dhawan film has at least managed to find itself in the reckoning, something that seemed a little tough when it had been delayed for quite some time. Thankfully, the makers have pitched the film correctly and with youth as the target audience, it could well manage to find itself in the green zone.
Having said that, since actors associated with the film don’t quite have enough pull to bring in audience on their own might, the opening would be on a lower side (30%-40%), only to pick up steam by end of Friday and then over the weekend. This won’t really be a bad situation after all, considering the fact that some of the mid-range films released this year have seen similar trending from the opening perspective and then have growth with word of mouth setting in.

The film also takes advantage from the fact that it is almost seeing a solo release for itself and there is not much competition from the past either. Especially at multiplexes, its target setting, this Ali Zafar-Siddharth-Divyendu Sharma-Taapsee Pannu starrer would be the only horse in the race. This translates into the fact that if the film is liked, it has a major advantage of making moolah. However, it would also face challenge to some extent at the least from IPL which would be in its first week as well.
Meanwhile, Luke Kenny’s Rise Of The Zombie would finally arrive on this weekend. However its first major hurdle would be to find an all-India release for itself. The fact that it hasn’t been promoted at all would have a telling on its fortunes.
