2024 has been a fantastic year so far for the Malayalam film industry, and Bramayugam is one of the important films that has contributed to the list of Mollywood winners of the current year. The Mammootty starrer has done really well considering the budget it was riding on. Now, the film has finally ended its box office journey, and there’s an update about the closing worldwide collection.
Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, the folk horror film was released on 15th February. Upon its arrival, the film opened with highly positive reviews from all across. Among audiences, the reaction was very positive. However, considering a bit of a niche concept and an experimental zone with a black-and-white format, it didn’t do much higher numbers during the theatrical run.
Bramayugam’s run at the worldwide box office
As per the final collection update, Bramayugam did a business of 27 crores net at the Indian box office. In gross, it equals to 31.86 crores. In the overseas market, the film enjoyed a solid run and amassed 27.10 crores gross, all thanks to Mammootty’s pull among the audience. Combining Indian and overseas gross, the total stands at 58.96 crores gross at the worldwide box office.

Budget & returns
Even though the exact number is not known, it is reported that Bramayugam carried a controlled budget of 15 crores. If this is compared with the domestic collection of 27 crores, the ROI stands at 12 crores (after subtracting the budget from the collection). After further calculation, the returns of the Mammootty starrer stand at 80%, which is a good sum for an experimental film.
Bramayugam is on OTT
After an exact one month of theatrical run, Bramayugam made its way on the OTT platform. For those who aren’t aware, the film started streaming on SonyLIV on 15th March. Considering the buzz all around, it is enjoying good viewership on the OTT platform.
Cast & crew of the film
Apart from the legendary Mammootty, Bramayugam also stars Sidharth Bharathan, Amalda Liz, Arjun Ashokan, and Manikandan R Achari in key roles. The music is composed by Christo Xavier. The story is written by Rahul Sadasivan.
