Crew continues to be in the record books after spending one week in theatres. It had a really good opening when it started in double digits, and then that stayed on to be the case for rest of the weekend as well when more than 10 crores kept coming in. Though Monday hold was quite good, there were steady numbers that kept coming between Tuesday to Thursday. That said, the drops were there and while they were not drastic, they were negligible. As a result, the Crew has to now contend with being in the Top-10 instead of being in the top 5.
Here Are the Week One/first 7 day numbers of the Top-10 Female-Centric Films:
- The Kerala Story – 81.07 crores
- Gangubai Kathiawadi – 68.93 crores
- Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi – 61.15 crores
- Veere Di Wedding – 56.96 crores
- Raazi – 56.59 crores
- The Dirty Picture – 52.50 crores
- Crew – 47.54 crores
- Dear Zindagi – 47 crores
- Mary Kom – 42 crores
- Heroine – 36.50 crores
The film remains above Dear Zindagi, though the margin has reduced to just a few lakhs. It should have stayed over The Dirty Picture, though, had the drops not come. For Ekta Kapoor, though, it’s a win since even that film was her production. In fact, as a producer, she can be proud of the fact that she has 3 out of the Top 10 films to her name, including Veere Di Wedding.
The film that has zoomed right to the top is The Kerala Story, which trended excellently to move to 81.07 crores. In fact, another movie that has moved up is Gangubai Kathiawadi, as it has marched past Manikarnika—The Queen of Jhansi. When it comes to the lifetime score, too, Crew will stay on to be at the 7th spot, as Dear Zindagi, Mary Kom, and Heroine will stay lower.
