Box Office Screen Count Battle: Good Newwz Dominates Dabangg 3, Mardaani 2 Bags Impressive Numbers

Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani starrer Good Newwz has closed its first week theatrical run on a rocking note. Even on weekdays, the movie remained rock steady, which clearly indicates the positivity around it.

Expectedly, the family entertainer has retained a huge chunk of screens in the second week by clearly dominating over Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3. Also, Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 2 has managed to bag impressive number in its fourth week.

As per trade estimates, Good Newwz has retained around 2700 screens in its second week which is highly impressive as compared to its opening week’s 3100 screens. Few more screens are expected to get added to the films kitty owing to audience’s overwhelming response. Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 on the other hand, has gone down in the number game as it managed to retain only around 450 screens, which clearly shows that the movie is failing to grab the desired footfalls.

Amid the other films, Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani 2 is running strong on its merit and owing to the public demand, the movie has got around 350 screens for its fourth week.

All the aforementioned movies have one full open week to reap the numbers at the box office before Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak and Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior hit the screens on the 10th January.

Speaking about opening week’s screen count, Good Newwz arrived on 3100 screens and Dabangg 3 was released across 4300 screens. Mardaani was released on around 1600 screens in India.
