Raid has opened well at the Box Office with 10.04 crore coming in. Anything over 10 crore would have been good for the Ajay Devgn starrer which is an offbeat drama, considering the fact that it doesn’t really have the kind of ‘masala’ entertainment that one associates with an Ajay Devgn starrer. Even though he plays an honest officer in the film who is out to wipe off corruption, he doesn’t get into the Singham mode and hence one didn’t expect an out and out commercial blockbuster start for it. From that perspective, the film’s start is positive and now it is time for it to grow over the weekend.
As things stand today, the collections should see a good jump today and tomorrow. That should ensure a weekend number in the range of 35-40 crore which should be quite healthy. The good news for the film is that it is practically the sole film in the running. While there are as many as 3400 screens reserved for the film, Bollywood isn’t offering any competition either from any other release. The only one that is still bringing in audiences is Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety but that too is on the lower side now since it has already seen its share of Blockbuster run.

Raid is yet another success for Ajay Devgn and now it has to be seen where does it eventually land up. Though it would be quite soon to talk about its entry into the 100 Crore Club, a good lifetime number is definitely on the cards that would ensure profits for all involved.

No wonder, its makers T-Series must be quite happy since Raid is now turning out to be their third winner in a row after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Hate Story IV and that too in a matter of just four Fridays.
