Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 has taken a very good opening at the Box Office. While it was predicted that the lifetime collections of Pyaar Ka Punchnama [12 crore] would be surpassed in the very opening weekend by Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, the feat is now set to be achieved in the first two days itself. Reason being that the film collected 6.80 crore on Friday and with the word of mouth being extremely positive and the reviews too ranging from decent to excellent, the film is now set to see a further increase in collections today. It won’t be surprising if over 8 crore come in today.

The film has released on around 4-6-8 shows at an average, depending upon the number of screens in a multiplex, and still the collections are quite good, which signify the high occupancy that the Luv Ranjan film is enjoying. Its superb collections are all the more appreciable, considering they are almost similar to bigger budgeted films like Tevar [7 crore], Badlapur [7 crore] and Hero [6.85 crore] while higher than Piku [5.3 crore].

In fact if one compares this with similar genre films this year like Dolly Ki Doli [2.5 crore], Welcome 2 Karachi [1.5 crore], Hunterrr [1.25 crore], Dum Laga Ke Haisha [1.1 crore] and Bangistan [1.1 crore] then there is no competition whatsoever.

The cult status of Pyaar Ka Punchnama managed to bring the audience on Day One. Now subsequent days would see newer set of audience coming in who would be influenced by the positive word of mouth. The film is here to stay and with no competition whatsoever, sky is the limit for the fun youth entertainer to perform.

Meanwhile, Wedding Pullav has turned out to be a non-starter at the Box Office. Its Day One collections are very poor with less than 25 lakhs coming in.

Jazbaa entered its second week with around 85 lakhs coming on the second Friday. The film has so far collected 22.4 crore.

Talvar added another 50 lacs to its kitty and stands at 26.45 crore currently.
